Selected from among 130 entries, Mads Sætter-Lassen’s design for the Buddy table lamp won Northern’s Student Design Award in 2015. A student at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen when he was tapped, Sætter-Lassen describes Buddy as “the little helper everyone needs.” And the unassuming desk lamp is just that—a multi-functional design that gives busy individuals an opportunity to organize with its holder that accommodates the myriad necessities that make everyday life work, such as pens, pencils, keys and loose change. The multi-directional shade allows the beam to be directed towards the area where light is needed.
