Returns

We love modern design and we know you do too, but sometimes your purchase just does not work out. No problem! We accept returns on a majority of our products, and we are always happy to assist. Below is the information on how returns work.

Before returning an item, please contact 2Modern Customer Care at (888) 222-4410 or support@2modern.com to obtain detailed shipping instructions. In general, if you are dissatisfied with your purchase, 2Modern will be happy to process a return for you, contingent upon the following:

  • Items must be unused, unassembled, in their original condition, and original packaging, complete with all tags, instructions, and inserts.
  • All returns must be postmarked within 30 days of receiving the item. Once the order is returned, please email support@2modern.com with your order number and the return shipping tracking number.
  • All returns will be processed via the original shipping method through which the order arrived (Fedex, freight, etc.).
  • Detailed shipping instructions will be provided by 2Modern. For items offered with free shipping, outbound shipping fees will be deducted from your final refund.
  • Any outbound shipping charges collected on the order will not be refunded. This includes mandatory shipping charges required by manufacturers, the $5 shipping charge for orders under $50, upgraded shipping charges (expedited, express, room of choice, etc.) or assembly services included with delivery.
  • Please allow at least 2 weeks after your order has been received for your refund to be processed at which point you will be refunded the purchase price, including tax, minus shipping costs and restocking fee.

Please work with the 2Modern customer support team to obtain as much product information and details as needed before ordering as customers are responsible for return shipping costs and restocking fees may apply.

  • No restocking fee for items returned for store credit via 2Modern gift card.
  • A 15% restocking fee will be applied for orders under $10,000 with less than 10 total items or less than 5 of the same base product (which includes color, size, finish option, etc., variants).
  • Orders over $10,000 with 10 or more total items or 5 or more of the same base product (which includes color, size, finish option, etc., variants) are not refundable and can only be returned for store credit via 2Modern gift card, without a restocking fee.

Exceptions - We cannot accept returns of:

  • Made-to-Order Products
  • Products identified as non-returnable
  • Products which have been installed or assembled
  • Products not in their original condition and original packaging
  • Products which have been successfully delivered and signed for via White Glove Delivery
  • Open Box Items
  • Gift Cards

Cancellations

To cancel an order, please notify us within 48 hours. We do not accept cancellations for Made-To-Order items after 48 hours. If an order is cancelled after the order has been shipped or processed, customers are responsible for round trip shipping charges even if 2Modern paid for the original shipment (i.e. Free Shipping).

Damaged & Defective Items

If you have received an item that was incorrect, defective, or has been damaged during shipment, please contact 2Modern Customer Care at (888) 222-4410 immediately. Please do not send back these items prior to contacting us. Do not try to repair any product unless directed in writing by 2Modern or the manufacturer.

When receiving your item, please be sure to inspect for damage before signing for the package. If damage is visible, reject the shipment, be sure the driver notes the damage and contact 2Modern Customer Care at (888) 222-4410. For damages concealed at the time of delivery, promptly take photos of the damaged item and the packaging it arrived in, and contact 2Modern Customer Care at (888) 222-4410.

Please note, if you have received a damaged product that can be remedied with replacement parts, and choose to return an item rather than accept replacement parts, you will be refunded the amount of your order less any unpaid shipping charges (see above).

2Modern is not responsible for any delays in your project or labor costs due to defective or damaged products or delays in receiving product.
