Description
Lisa Hilland’s Torso is the chair, which like a bare torso, can be dressed. The woven leather back is inspired by the traditional hunter chair and gently flirts with Swedish craft traditions. The chairs are modest in their expression yet they are visually striking with their woven leather detailing. The new additions are dressed for the party and you’ll find them in sophisticated bars and salons.
Lisa Hilland puts a lot of value on the fact that Torso is produced in Sweden as she prefers the environmental aspects as well as the hands-on quality control of the locally produced design. She can often be seen on the factory floor searching for eco-friendly solutions to enhance the project. The new additions are dressed for the party and you’ll find them in sophisticated bars and salons. You might say that the Torso family are lobster and champagne chairs.
The Torso framework and leatherback are produced in Sweden. The combination of hi-tech and lo-tech, framework and attire, creates a notable dynamic. This is a design that suits the home just as well as the public sector. The chairs are readily stackable and our intention is to make further attire for Torso available in the future. This will enable purchasers to choose the character or “dress” that best suits their environment.
