The Toronto-based design firm, Castor, was founded in 2006 by designer Brian Richer and architect Kei Ng. Aiming to straddle the line between art and design, Richer and Ng specialize in inventive, sometimes irreverent modern design pieces created from re-purposed discarded materials. A contemporary lighting range—which includes a modern chandelier composed from burnt-out, used light bulbs—illustrates the Castor approach to vividly imaginative and unusually artful modern design.
