Category Manager (Lighting)

2Modern is seeking an experienced brand/category manager within our lighting category. Within the category, you will be responsible for business development, brand management, product optimization, merchandizing and inventory analysis/management. 

We are a fast-growing ecommerce company within the home/office furnishings business based in the San Francisco Bay Area, but serve all of North America. Established in 2003, 2Modern is a pioneer and leader in the modern furniture, lighting and accessory market. We are authorized dealers for over 150+ coveted brands such as Knoll, Foscarini, Moooi, Tom Dixon, Blu Dot, Artemide and many more. 

You should have a strong grasp of ecommerce retail category management, merchandising, relationship management/business development skills and data/analytical prowess. Category Managers work directly with our brands, Sales/Service teams, Site Production and Operations Managers. Compensation includes a competitive base salary and incentive plan. 

We are looking for individuals with a knowledge of succeeding within an ecommerce environment, has strong interpersonal skills, can manage several dimensions of responsibility to achieve measurable success, is proactive and can work well with a decentralized environment.  

Qualified Candidates will have:

  • BS/MS degree in marketing or a related field
  • 3+ years in category management experience
  • High level of business development and relationship management skills
  • Ability to turn analysis into meaningful action
  • Data Management/Product Optimization experience
  • Demonstrable Curation and Merchandizing skills
  • High level of experience of Excel and Ecommerce platforms/software
  • History of exceeding goals 
  • Knowledge of design, furniture & lighting categories a plus

Social Media Manager

2Modern is looking for an experienced, results-oriented social media manager to join our team. Do you want to work with internationally known brands and be a part of a dynamic team where you can make a big difference with your contribution?

You would be responsible for creating and executing the company's social media strategy to drive awareness, traffic, engagement and conversion. Ultimately, this includes conceptualizing and implementing the 2Modern "voice" across all social platforms to communicate effectively with designated audiences and drive engagement.

You should have a strong grasp of current marketing tools and strategies and be able to lead integrated social campaigns from concept to execution. The Social Media Manager will work with the marketing team, supporting teams (such as developers, designers and copywriters), and vendors to launch campaigns on time and on budget. Compensation includes a competitive base salary and incentive plan. 

We are looking for individuals with a knowledge of succeeding within an ecommerce environment, can manage campaigns tactically and strategically, has experience in both B2C and B2B (Architects/Designers/Builders/Buyers), is proactive and can work well with a decentralized environment.  

Qualified Candidates will have:

  • 3+ years of experience in social media, writing/editing, online publishing, or related field
  • Demonstration of active immersion in the social space i.e. blog, instagram, pinterest, etc.
  • Proven track record of executing social media strategies at a high level and leveraging data driven research/analysis to drive strategic direction, best practices and process improvements
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms
  • Ability to stay ahead of trends and adapt to new and changing social media platforms
  • Knowledge and understanding of SEO and how it is affected by social

Tasks include:

  • Track, monitor, react to and manage all social channels on a daily (and hourly) basis, including evenings and weekends – both real-time and scheduled
  • Track and monitor the effectiveness and success of online initiatives using relevant monitoring tools; generate analytics reports and effectively tweak social strategy and content based on analytics
  • Set and deliver on tangible KPI's from social (ie. Referrals, ROI, fan growth, engagement, lead generation, SEO)
  • Aid in the creation of content for all social media platforms – Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.; conceptualize and execute programs to encourage engagement with the various platforms Identify relevant blogs and work with internal teams to engage in social conversations to provide reach for key launches, promotions and viral marketing efforts
  • Stay abreast of key industry trends, competitive insights and emerging social media / marketing / e-commerce technologies

Sales Representative (Lighting)

2Modern is seeking a dynamic and sales-driven Lighting Sales Representative. The position is full-time Monday to Friday and can be remote/telecommute.

We are a fast-growing ecommerce company within the home/office furnishings business based in the San Francisco Bay Area, but serve all of North America. Established in 2003, 2Modern is a pioneer and leader in the modern furniture, lighting and accessory market.

Potential candidates must have a successful track record of establishing strong relationships with customers and exceeding sales goals within the home/office furnishing space. The ideal candidate is motivated, goal-oriented and has polished phone/email sales skills. Compensation includes a competitive base salary + commissions to incentivize business growth.

We are authorized dealers for over 150+ coveted brands such as Foscarini, Moooi, Tom Dixon, WAC Lighting, Sonneman, Hubbardton Forge and many more. Knowledge of these products is a big plus.

We are looking for individuals with a knowledge of succeeding within an ecommerce environment, has experience working with Architects/Designers/Builders/Buyers, are proactive and work well within a team.

Tasks mainly include: Converting incoming leads and driving new business via phone or email in a professional and high paced environment. Candidates must be extremely detail oriented, self-motivated and possess polished sales skills.

We expect applicants to have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be able to work to deadlines with a high level of accuracy and have competent computer skills. Proficiency in working with CRM/SFA systems and having knowledge of the brands we work with will be an advantage.

Marketing Intern

The Marketing Intern will work closely with production, content, and sales team to optimize ecommerce shopping experience by revitalizing strategies and tactics to acquire, engage, and retain both retail and trade customers. Marketing intern with work with both the Director of Marketing and CEO, with active engagement across all departments. The Marketing Intern will be a dynamic individual looking to gain experience as part of a smart, busy, data-driven team in a rapidly growing ecommerce company. The successful candidate will demonstrate a willingness to take on multiple tasks, learn and assist where needed within Marketing, Creative, and Content.

Responsibilities:

Key tasks:

  • Assist with lead generation - data acquisition, vetting, data research, data compilation
  • Assist with onsite merchandising and product/category tagging
  • Assist with QA of new brand launches and brand updates
  • Update and maintain PR contacts update
  • Fulfill PR requests and send outbound press kits, brand launch press, seasonal lookbooks, exclusives, etc.
  • Request and manage external editorial calendar and top blogger calendars
  • Assist with marketing calendar management, promos/events, email marketing, marketing hand-off to creative
  • Assist with social channel marketing, contest set up, maintenance, reporting
  • Assist with set up, maintenance, and merchandising of landing pages, brand pages, category pages

Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience and familiarity with branding, online marketing, merchandising (data tools/reporting a plus)
  • Experience with retail customer experience - online or offline
  • Experience & working knowledge of all MS Office, most especially Excel
  • Experience within Content/Editorial and/or writing experience (proofing, editing, etc)
  • Experience with both HTML and Adobe Creative Suite 5 is a plus

The successful candidate will demonstrate a willingness to take on multiple tasks, learn and assist where needed within Marketing, Customer Experience and Operations. They will be a team player, a dynamic individual, and a fast learner.
