Solid Wood
- Care & Maintenance: As the wood is untreated, the surface will patinate and change color over time into a beautiful silvery grey. To maintain untreated wood, it is a good idea to use sandpaper (grit 120-150) once or twice a year. If you wish to preserve or intensify the original color, use suitable furniture oil on a regular basis
- Cleaning & Stain Removal: Do a general cleaning when needed with a suitable wood cleaner and soft bristle brush. Rinse afterwards with water and let it dry for 24 hours. The wood used for our outdoor furniture, Teak and Western Red Cedar, is resistant to everyday wind and weather with or without treatment due to the high content of natural oils. Stains can be removed with mild bleach, water and a soft cloth
- Caution: As the wood is untreated, it may be affected by grease and colorants. Drying racks: When using drying racks, do not dry wet laundry directly on the wood, as this might discolor the fabric. Products in Douglas Pine may have small amounts of resin extraction when unpacked. It can quickly be removed with a little denatured alcohol. Also, minor cracks can appear over time due to changes in the living natural wood. For tables, remember to retighten the table’s mounting bolts from time to time
Untreated Brass
- Care & Maintenance: Products with raw, untreated brass may have color differences when unwrapped. To restore the surface color, use a brass cleaning product and applier. The untreated brass part will start to patinate when it is being exposed to carbon dioxide and other substances, which will result in differences in color and surface. This is part of the product’s unique look but can be polished away with brass cleaning product and applier
- Cleaning & Stain Removal: Brass should only be cleaned and polished with a brass cleansing product and applier. Wipe off with a dry, soft cloth. Note that water on the surface may make the brass oxidize faster. For best color and longevity, keep water off the shade completely
- Caution: Never use abrasives or sharp-edged tools to remove stains
