Wood

• Care & Maintenance:
  • Never use abrasive cleaners including steel wool and polish. Instead, use a mild detergent and follow the packaging instructions. Do not clean furniture with damaged surface lacquer as the water will penetrate and cause warping
  • For daily cleaning, wipe with a clean, damp cloth. Stains and dirt can be removed using a solution of hot water and a universal cleaning product, soap flakes (one tablespoon to one litre of lukewarm water), washing detergent or a mild vinegar solution. Wick away excess water immediately and wipe dry with a clean cloth
  • For deeper cleaning, wipe away dirt and debris. Wring a clean cloth in a solution of water and a universal cleaning detergent, adding a little detergent directly on the cloth before applying to the stain(s). For stubborn stains, apply detergent directly and let it sit for a minute or two before rinsing with clean water. To avoid water marks, wipe dry with a soft cloth. N.B. Extension leaves must be completely dry before storing
• Cleaning & Stain Removal: Remove stains and spills as quickly as possible, rinsing with clean water and drying with a soft cloth to avoid water marks
• Caution: Avoid placing objects on the surface for longer periods of time as this will result in staining and/or discoloration. Never place hot items directly on wood surfaces. Although finished with a layer of clear lacquer for durability, repeated exposure to sunlight will cause wood to fade over time. Clothing rivets can leave pressure marks on wood

Leather

• Care & Maintenance: Vacuum regularly using a soft brush nozzle
• Cleaning & Stain Removal: Clean only when necessary, using hot water and soap flakes. Dissolve 2-3 tablespoons of soap flakes in 1 litre of boiled water. Using only the foam, apply evenly across the surface of the furniture using a soft cloth. Mop excess water with a dry, soft cotton cloth. Allow the furniture to dry before use. Spot cleaning is not recommended for leather as it can cause discoloration. Damage caused by stain removers is not covered by the Fritz Hansen warranty
• Caution: Sharp objects can scratch, and damage leather and non-colorfast clothing can cause permanent discoloration. Avoid placing in direct sunlight for extended periods of time or close to heat sources. Stacking of upholstered chairs can cause pressure marks in the upholstery. To minimize pressure marks when stacking upholstered chairs use the piece of cardboard and thin foam to divide the pressure from the four spacers onto a larger area. This does still not guarantee no pressure marks

Stainless Steel

• Care & Maintenance: Regularly wipe with a microfibre cloth to remove build-up
• Cleaning & Stain Removal: Clean with warm, soapy water and wipe dry to avoid streaking. Always wipe in the direction of the grain. Spot clean with benzine on a clean, soft cloth
• Caution: Chlorine- and acid-based cleaners will cause the steel to rust. Do not use steel wool, steel brushes or other abrasives
