Description
The Man Ray Chess Set from Ameico Classics offers a sophisticated reimagining of a timeless classic through a distinctly modernist lens. Originally conceived in 1920, this set replaces traditional figurative pieces with evocative, abstract forms that mirror the artist’s pioneering Dadaist spirit. By blurring the lines between functional game and sculptural art, this re-edition transforms your tabletop into a gallery-worthy display of surrealist history and geometric elegance.
Highlights:
- Features pieces derived from fundamental geometric forms like cubes, spheres, and pyramids
- Knight piece captures artistry through a scroll head modeled after a violin
- Faithful re-edition inspired by the set held in the Metropolitan Museum of Art collection
- Transforms a functional pastime into a compelling conversation piece
- Available in Black / Brown wood finish
- Man Ray & Marcel Duchamp
