Description

The Jari Dining Chair derives its name and form from the Japanese word for "pebbles," echoing the smooth, organic shapes of stones worn down by the ocean. Originally commissioned for the INUA restaurant in Tokyo, this chair is a triumph of fluid woodworking. Its defining feature is the solid oak backrest, which is meticulously carved and sanded into a seamless, rounded curve that embraces the sitter, eliminating any sharp edges. Supported by slender, turned legs that taper elegantly toward the floor, the Jari combines a grounded, natural presence with the comfort of a generously upholstered seat, designed to support guests through long, leisurely meals.

Care instructions

Oil Treated Wood:
Oil surfaces are easy to maintain by wiping down on a daily basis with a damp cloth (it should be wrung out, with as little water as possible) to remove any moisture, dust or residue; Once the surface has been wiped, use a dry cloth to ensure any excess moisture is removed.
Always avoid using very wet cloth on oiled surfaces as this will cause harm; If the stains are difficult to remove, you can dampen the cloth in water and wring it out, then use a dry cloth to dry the surface afterwards.
If the surface has harsh bruises or stains, for example from cups, then the oil surface must be sanded off and co- loured oil should be applied; Remember to always sandpaper in the direction of the wood grain.
Fabric:
Recommend frequent vacuuming to draw out loose dust from the surface.
Spills and stains should be removed as soon as they occur, and extraction cleaning should be considered if the stains are significant.
Leather:
Gently wipe the surface with a soft, dry cloth.
For light stains, use a soft cloth wrung out in water, boiled and then cooled to room temperature.
It is often best to allow light stains to blend naturally into the developing patina, such as marks from a pen.
If liquids are spilled, promptly wipe the entire surface with a soft cloth, and wring out in cold water.

Delivery: This level of service includes inside delivery to room of choice and package removal. Shipment can be brought up two flights of stairs in a walk-up; please let us know if you have additional stairs, which may incur additional costs. This is the recommended service for customers in multi-unit buildings or offices. Please note, customer signature is required and returns will not be accepted once successful delivery has been completed.
Scheduling: Customer will be notified of delivery date options via phone call and email and, once date is confirmed, will be provided with a 4-hour appointment window. The shipping company's contact info will be included in the email, in order to reschedule the appointment if necessary.
What's Included: Inside delivery to specified room, package removal, and customer signature required. This level of service does not include assembly or moving of existing items.
