Solid Wood

• Care & Maintenance: As the wood is untreated, the surface will patinate and change color over time into a beautiful silvery grey. To maintain untreated wood, it is a good idea to use sandpaper (grit 120-150) once or twice a year. If you wish to preserve or intensify the original color, use suitable furniture oil on a regular basis
• Cleaning & Stain Removal: Do a general cleaning when needed with a suitable wood cleaner and soft bristle brush. Rinse afterwards with water and let it dry for 24 hours. The wood used for our outdoor furniture, Teak and Western Red Cedar, is resistant to everyday wind and weather with or without treatment due to the high content of natural oils. Stains can be removed with mild bleach, water and a soft cloth
• Caution: As the wood is untreated, it may be affected by grease and colorants. Drying racks: When using drying racks, do not dry wet laundry directly on the wood, as this might discolor the fabric. Products in Douglas Pine may have small amounts of resin extraction when unpacked. It can quickly be removed with a little denatured alcohol. Also, minor cracks can appear over time due to changes in the living natural wood. For tables, remember to retighten the table’s mounting bolts from time to time

Leather

• Care & Maintenance: Vacuum regularly using a soft brush nozzle
• Cleaning & Stain Removal: Clean only when necessary, using hot water and soap flakes. Dissolve 2-3 tablespoons of soap flakes in 1 litre of boiled water. Using only the foam, apply evenly across the surface of the furniture using a soft cloth. Mop excess water with a dry, soft cotton cloth. Allow the furniture to dry before use. Spot cleaning is not recommended for leather as it can cause discoloration. Damage caused by stain removers is not covered by the Fritz Hansen warranty
• Caution: Sharp objects can scratch, and damage leather and non-colorfast clothing can cause permanent discoloration. Avoid placing in direct sunlight for extended periods of time or close to heat sources. Stacking of upholstered chairs can cause pressure marks in the upholstery. To minimize pressure marks when stacking upholstered chairs use the piece of cardboard and thin foam to divide the pressure from the four spacers onto a larger area. This does still not guarantee no pressure marks
