LZF - Sioux Suspension Lamp. Designed by Miguel Herranz. Sioux is a family of lights made up of table, floor and suspension lights of different sizes. Its shade, made up of 8 sheets of wood veneer strips, gives it a look similar to those found in feathered head dresses of the North American Indians. These pieces can be made in seven different colours allowing you to create mono colour, bi colour and multi coloured shades. The relationship between the shade and the metallic structure is a relationship of contrasts, the lightness of the shade against the weight of the structure, warmth and coldness, craftwork verses techno.

Since 1994, Lzf, has been hand-crafting captivating contemporary lighting for residential and commercial environments with an ongoing collaboration with freelance designers. Lzf conveys its collective vision through simple, fluid shapes offset by unexpected twists of illumination and shade.

LOVE this light!
We’ve been searching for a dining room light fixture for ages. We wanted something modern and unique. This caught our eye immediately. The product shipped from the manufacturer in Spain and there was an 8 week lead time, but it arrived exactly on schedule and was in perfect condition. We assembled and installed it ourselves. There was not much to assemble other than the “loops” (they come flat in the box, then you bend them into the loop shape and secure them with the fasteners/screws that are provided). We ordered the “American White” color loops. They are a gentle white, but not at all yellow. Installation does require some patience and 2 people. We’re fairly handy and have installed dozens of light fixtures over the years. If it’s your first time, you might want the help of a pro. Mounting the 4 corners for the suspension wires is the tricky part. You have to measure carefully to keep things square. Mounting the “guts” to the electrical box is a cinch. The light that shines from the fixture is great over our rectangular table that seats 8 when full extended, and seats 6 in the everyday configuration. It is plenty bright, but not glaring. We installed frosted bulbs. You can see the bulbs clearly when you look into the ends of the fixture and we thought clear bulbs would be a bit harsh from this angle. We get compliments on the fixture all the time – it’s sculptural and beautiful, and lights the space perfectly.
