Description
The Foscarini Spokes 2 Large Pendant is a cutting edge design inspired by the wheel of a bicycle – intricate with every spoke purposely and carefully placed. The designers, Vincente Garica Jimenez and Cinzia Cumini, redefined the term spoke as a straightforward graphic sign, which they multiplied again and again to create this modern lamp. The slim metal spokes curve gently at the ends to form soft, lightweight volumes. Two LED lights are encapsulated inside the shade and point in opposite directions - downwards and towards the heart of the spokes – creating a diffused light that projects an interweaving display of light and shadows. Just as a bicycle’s wheel spins in circles around a stationary object, the Foscarini Spokes 2 Large Pendant acts as a bicycle wheel moving around us with various forms and colors producing an interplay of quasi-hypnotic full and empty spaces.
