About 2Modern

When: 2Modern launched in 2003.

Who: Founded by Greg Finney and Jennifer Sitko, formerly of the award-winning design studio Carve Media. They have worked together for over 15 years.

Where: Mill Valley, CA. Right over the Golden Gate Bridge in Southern Marin.

Why: We want to share our passion of modern design with the world.

Timeline:

2002: An idea is born: Jennifer Sitko and Greg Finney decide to leverage their expertise in brand management and ecommerce into one of their passions: Modern Design.

2003: 2Modern.com launch.

2004: 50+ Designers now available on 2Modern.

2005: Blog Launch: 20 contributors from around the world sharing beautiful design.

2006: Showroom space in NYC + Huge ICFF Party.

2007: Migration to Netsuite: Need some serious software to support our growth.

2008: Launch the 2M Directory: Find Modern Architects and Designers by location and services.

2009: Twitter & Facebook: Follow us...a great community + give away great design weekly.

2010: Gift Registry Launch Gift Registry Launch and 100+ Designers now available on 2Modern.

2011: 2M Collective: Great design at deep discounts.

Leadership

Greg Finney Co-Founder & CEO
Greg Finney is an idea man, no doubt, but he also comes packed with years of skills, talent and experience. He graduated from the University of Arizona in liberal arts and then traveled around the world, gaining an appreciation for different cultures, styles, architecture and color palettes. In 1996, he co-founded Carve Media with Jennifer Sitko, and they were responsible for the online branding and ecommerce initiatives of such impressive names as Levi Strauss, Autodesk, Honeywell, Clorox, Stanford and Macy's.

It's not often you find someone with the technical and creative talents to run an online modern furniture retail store - founder Jennifer Sitko possesses those traits and more. Considered the heart and visual mastermind behind 2Modern, Jennifer wears many hats, from graphic designer, furniture designer, product designer, web guru and marketing genius. Jennifer received a degree in Environmental Design from UC Davis with minors in interior architecture and graphic design.

Deanna Miller Chief Relationship Manager
Furniture Designer, Showroom Designer, Artist and lover of anything inspiring and unique, Deanna is on a never ending search for the trends and trend setters. She navigates her way through trade shows representing 2Modern's Public Relations and Marketing Department. A Bikram Yoga devotee, Deanna finds herself most relaxed in 105 degree rooms striking her best King Dancer.
