Originally designed in 1991 by Mauricio Klabin, the Objekto Eclipse Table Lamp has become an iconic piece of art and functional design that has been featured in the permanent of the New York MoMA since 2006. The anamorphic structure is composed of a single, spiraled piece of plastic and is able to be reshaped and formed, appearing like the different phases of the moon. Supported by an equally adjustable black steel frame, the rather simple concept appeals to the masses without sacrificing smart and eloquent design. Intending to evoke feelings of comfort and warmth, the light source can be hidden or exposed depending on the position of the plastic diffuser, glowing vibrantly from within.
