Modernica has released a new range of modern outdoor furniture, and this inspired collection is amongst the latest 2Modern summer arrivals. In keeping with Modernica's reprisal of Mid Century modern designs, the outdoor collection features a suite of Case Study® designs, clean and elegant modern furniture made popular in the 1940s and 1950s.
Two Case Study® Daybeds lead the collection, each comprised of solid African teak hardwood and fade-resistant Sunbrella fabrics. Modernica’s Case Study® Outdoor Daybed, carries the identical low-profile and refined geometry of the best-selling Case Study V-Leg Daybed, with this outdoor version re-engineered in solid teak that weathers beautifully, and upholstery that remains impervious to both rain and sun. The Case Study® Cabana Outdoor Daybed (above) is a backless iteration, its silhouette reduced to a simple African teak hardwood platform, topped with low-profile upholstery and bolster pillow. A wide selection of Sunbrella fabrics ensure that both daybeds segue seamlessly into any modern outdoor scheme.
The Case Study® #22 series, outdoor furniture designed in 1946 by Hendrik Van Keppel and Taylor Green, has been reprised by Modernica to the exact original design specifications. Chaise, Lounge Chair, and Ottoman complete the suite, with the original series' gracefully curved enameled steel frames and cotton rope seating replaced with rust-proof powder-coated stainless steel and nautical-grade marine rope.
