Varaluz - Fascination Six Light Linear Pendant. Breathtaking, that's what came to mind when they saw the ruins of an old Nevada mine at sunset. The walls had been constructed of wine bottles and mud. All those old bottles arranged so perfectly and capturing the sunlight, what better inspiration for a lighting family? They mimicked the bottle ends with recycled steel circles of varying sized filled with recycled glass discs. Rarely before has a design based in "old" seemed so powerfully new.

Photo doesn't really show finish
The light arrived well packaged and in perfect condition. We were looking for something unusual, and a bit industrial to offset our large scale, salvaged 100 yr old wood, trestle, 84" dining table that can extend to 120". The light did not disappoint in scale. It is quite substantial and very heavy, and just the right size for our table.
The issue that we had with it was it's finish and overall look. The finish looks to be a consistent silver in color in the photos here, but, it actually has a look of random splotchy silver leafing or silver paint strokes all over it. In addition, the circles that do not have glass look almost like cheap cookie cutters. My son-in-law walked in and asked me, "Who made it?", since it looks like a novice arts and crafts project. We were truly disappointed in it. I recommend that you search the product name for better images on the internet which will show the splotches. It may be just what you are looking for. It wasn't for us.
2Modern was great with customer service communication - but, I believe that Varaluz dropped the ball with my refund. It took about a month to even hear back. The communication was lacking between Varaluz and 2Modern. Be certain that this is the item you desire and can live with before you place the order...or, you will have to pay a restocking fee and/or reshipping fee.
Once returned, we went on to purchase and hang another light by Varaluz. It is a bit different. It's the Rain - 7 light in the Rainy Night finish. This one better suits our taste.
I am rating this +1 star for the excellent shipment packaging, +1 star for the substantial scale of the light, +1 star for 2Modern customer service, -1 star for the look/design, -1 star for the lack of complete description, -1 star for the lack of close-up photos of the item, and, -1 star for Varaluz's time in which to refund for return.
