Fantastic chair!
Fantastic chair! We wanted something that would be functional for a newborn (rocker, glider functions) but could also look great in the living room. This chair is awesome. We have the brown leather version and it looks fantastic, clean lines, modern and extremely functional. Made the first few months with the baby that much more enjoyable!! Love it!

Great, yet flawed
I bought this glider in July 2010 when it was still rather new on the market (had my daughter at the end of August 2010). Let me start out by saying that the glider has been wonderful - I have used it so much to nurse my daughter and rock her to sleep. We still read in it and now my daughter likes "swinging" in it. HOWEVER, the recline function is not as advertised, to say the least. When I first got the glider, I was majorly pregnant and couldn't even get the back to stay down - it would pop me right back up unless I took on a very odd, uncomfortable position and pushed back with all my might (I am 5'10" and quite strong, so no small feat). I figured it would get better with some use. Three years later, IT HAS NOT (those must be some strong springs in there)!! It was very difficult to recline in the glider with a baby on my chest - we ultimately wound up vertical. I called Monte to voice my dissatisfaction and asked how they suggested fixing the situation. I have to say that the customer service was a joke. The guy gave me the run around and told me to try all sorts of bogus "fixes" like making sure the material flap at the back is tucked in (as if that was going to help). I told him how hard I had to push back to stay back and he made a joke about it at least being a good work out for my abs. Not really appropriate considering I paid over $1400 including delivery. If he was trying to be annoying and get rid of me, it worked - I was too tired to push back too hard. But then I got really annoyed again a few months later and called back. I told him I had tried all his "fixes," which I had. Again, I got the run around. I told him that I was not able to recline like the women in their advertisement pictures (such false advertising). He acted so surprised and told me it would be too expensive to exchange the product - that they had done this once before and when they got the supposedly flawed product back, there was no problem with it, so they were hesitant to do this again. This is what he offered me - that I pay for the return shipping in order to exchange the product, but that it was likely that the replacement would be the same (so he knew it wasn't working as advertised!), or that I buy a 2nd glider and he could give it to me at a discount (I live in a Georgetown rowhouse - certainly don't have room or want another one of these and the "discount" was laughable - essentially the same price as I paid for the first one). Needless to say, I couldn't believe the lousy customer service for such a high-end product. I called the store where I bought it and they offered to help, but said it would be more effective for me to deal with Monte directly. I usually don't let customer service issues slide, but I have to admit that I did in this case - have to pick your battles when you're a mom managing a busy life. As mentioned above, the glider has been great for us, but one of the reasons I bought it, other than that it is a space saver and super comfortable, is that we were planning on using it as a proper recliner in a den or living room in the future, which is one of Monte's big pitches - use after life with a baby. It will not work as a recliner later (unless they have made some changes, which it doesn't sound like they have from the other reviews). So, if you don't need the recline function, this is a great product (or if you want an ab workout). Monte should fix this or not incorrectly advertise - and they shouldn't treat their customers like imbeciles!

So stylish and comfortable!
I absolutely love this glider!! It's no doubt my favorite part of my nursery. The gliding motion is very smooth and the back of the chair is perfectly tall so that I can rest my head on it -- ideal for those late-night nursing sessions. The best part is that it even reclines. This glider is everything I was looking for to complete my nursery!
