Alex Marshall's ceramics can be described as beautifully functional sculpture. Many have referred to her work as organic — an elegant mixture of art and chance. She takes a highly skilled and deliberate approach to her art. Ms. Marshall, who studied painting and ceramics sculpture at Skidmore College and received her MFA in conceptual art from the San Francisco Art Institute, designs and produces dinnerware and ceramics with an authenticity to both beauty and function.
