notNeutral - Eccentric Area Rug 8x10. This striking, overlapping rug design originated as a 9,000 square foot custom rug for a grand hall. The original rug was intended to represent an embracing welcome to the community who gathered in the space, with the nesting circles in the pattern referencing traditional symbolism for the cycle of life and eternity. The rug design was also conceived of as a metaphor for a basket. The banding and radiating linear elements evoke the weave of a basket, which, similar to a community center, relies on interwoven individual members for strength and is a vessel for holding belongings together.
